Yesterday, Samsung revealed the date for the next Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will launch the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and probably the Galaxy S25 Slim. So far, we have had leaks about their design, display, cameras, processor, memory configuration, and battery, giving us a pretty good idea about what to expect from them. However, it looks like there’s more to the story.
A popular tipster from China, Ice Universe, claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will offer improved video quality in lowlight environments. While they didn’t give us a point of comparison, we are assuming that they are referring to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The tipster claims that the improvement will rely heavily on performance gains offered by the processor. We are assuming that are referring to the improvements that Snapdragon 8 Elite offers over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
As such, Ice Universe claims that Samsung will not be able to offer that improvement to older devices, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Going by the post, it looks like the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s video quality will be significantly better compared to its predecessor.
Will other Galaxy S25 models get it?
It is also worth pointing out that the tipster has specifically mentioned the Galaxy S25 Ultra and not the other three devices in the lineup. It raises the question as to why the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Slim don’t have it. Is it because they have less processing power as they use a different processor or is Samsung saving the feature only for the top-of-the-line model?
The story continues after the video…
Well, only time will tell that. Until then, you might want to check out our video above about what's new in One UI 7 beta 3, which will give you an idea of what to expect from the software on Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphones.
