Galaxy S26 FE's Exynos 2500 processor

TL;DR

  • Galaxy S26 FE launches with the Exynos 2500 globally, with no Snapdragon version in any market, including the US.
  • Samsung says the new chip is faster than the Exynos 2400, with better CPU, GPU ray-tracing, and NPU performance.
  • The Exynos 2500 was built on Samsung’s 3nm GAA process and was previously used only in the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Samsung has just launched a new Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S26 FE. It comes with some upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 FE. That includes a newer processor, the Exynos 2500, an upgrade over the Exynos 2400 used in the previous model.

The Galaxy S26 FE uses the Exynos 2500 globally. Unlike previous Galaxy S series smartphones, there’s no dual-chip strategy with the new Fan Edition model. That means you’ll get the same processor regardless of where in the world you buy the phone. And there is no Snapdragon version of the phone in any country, including the US.

Samsung unveiled the Exynos 2500 in June 2025, and until the launch of the Galaxy S26 FE, the company had used the chipset in just one device, the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Samsung Exynos 2500 features

The Exynos 2500 is built on Samsung Foundry’s 3nm GAA process. It features one Cortex-X925 CPU core clocked at 3.3GHz, two Cortex-A725 CPU cores clocked at 2.74GHz, five Cortex-A725 CPU cores clocked at 2.36GHz, and two Cortex-A520 CPU cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

As for the GPU, there's the Xclipse 950, which is based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture. Its NPU delivers up to 59 TOPS of AI performance.

Compared to the Exynos 2400, the Exynos 2500 offers a 15% improvement in multi-core CPU performance. Its GPU delivers a 28% improvement in ray-tracing performance, while the NPU is 39% faster. Due to these improvements, the phone can offer advanced features like Super Steady Video with Horizon Lock and My FanCam.
