Samsung has taken this decision in coordination with Google.

Every now and then, Google releases updates to the Google Play System for Samsung smartphones and tablets. That includes Galaxy devices running beta versions of One UI, such as the Galaxy S26 series with the One UI 9.0 (Android 17) beta. However, that has now come to a halt.
Samsung US has announced that, in coordination with Google, Google Play System updates for devices running beta versions of One UI have been paused (via Tarun Vats). Since the One UI 9.0 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s only active beta program at the moment, it is safe to assume that this is the program the company is referring to.
Samsung says that all critical security fixes from Google have already been delivered to these devices through the beta software, and users can continue using them without any concerns. The company also says that Google Play System updates will resume “at the appropriate time,” either during the beta period or after the stable version of the new software is released.
Samsung is expected to start rolling out the stable version of One UI 9.0 to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the next few weeks. Along with that, the brand will also be adding new features to Good Lock modules as part of upgrading them for the new software.
The company has also been releasing updates for its app for these phones to make them compatible with the new Android skin as well as upgrade their looks with One UI 9.0 design language.
