Galaxy S27 may use UFS 5.1, memory and storage configurations leak

Previous reports about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series claimed that the phones could feature LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage. These are expected to offer significantly faster performance than LPDDR5X and UFS 4.1 found in the Galaxy S26 series.

Earlier today, Samsung validated LPDDR6 support on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, the chipset the Galaxy S27 series is expected to use. This strengthens claims that the upcoming devices could indeed use the faster memory standard.

As for storage, a new leak about the Galaxy S27 series claims that the upcoming phones could be even more advanced, featuring UFS 5.1 storage. The leak also sheds light on the RAM and storage configurations of the upcoming phones.

Popular tipster Lanzuk claims that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will use LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.1 storage. They have also revealed the memory and storage configurations of all the models in the lineup, which you can check out below.

As you can see, the upcoming models will be available in the same RAM and NAND configurations as their predecessors. The tipster says that Samsung is not planning to offer memory and storage upgrades due to cost issues.

There’s still a long way to go for the Galaxy S27 series' expected launch in February 2027. With memory and storage prices also skyrocketing, the brand's plans could change before then, so it’s best to take this leak with a grain of salt for now.
