A few months ago, reports indicated that the Galaxy S27 series would receive an upgraded selfie camera. However, it now appears the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will not get this new front-facing camera and will instead use the same hardware as their predecessors.

Galaxy S27 and S27+ front-facing camera details

GalaxyClub claims the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will retain the 12MP front-facing autofocus camera found on the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a new 16MP selfie camera, though it remains unclear if these models will use a larger sensor or adopt a square format similar to the iPhone 17 and iPhone 18 series.

Previous reports suggest the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will include a 50MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will reportedly feature a 200MP primary rear camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to sport a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x or 3.5x optical zoom, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra will pack a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
