Samsung has finally released the Android 12 update to the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020). The new update also brings One UI 4.1 and the June 2022 security patch. The software update is available in European countries, and we expect it to be released in other markets soon.

The Android 12 update for the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) comes with firmware version T505XXU3CVE7. The update is available in Austria, Baltic, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Southeast Europe, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.

If you are a Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 user with an LTE model in Europe, you can download and install the Android 12 update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 in 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2 on board. The tablet received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in mid-2021. The Android 12 update is probably its last major OS update.

Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 Android 12 features

This major software update brings a revamped UI design, featuring the Color Palette feature, thicker sliders, better Dark Mode, restyled widgets, better widget picker UI, and more lock screen widgets. It also brings improved versions of all the stock apps, including Bixby, Bixby Routines, Samsung Calendar, Samsung Gallery, Samsung Internet, Samsung Keyboard, and Samsung MyFiles.

The sharing menu is now easier to use and can be customized. It also offers edit suggestions for images and videos that are out of focus or need to be straightened. The Samsung Internet web browser gets search suggestions, an option to start in Secret Mode, and a widget to search for things from the home screen. The Device Care section has a new design and diagnostic check tools.

The camera app's UI has been cleaned up and gets a longer Single Take mode. It also starts recording videos as soon as the finger touches the shutter button rather than when it leaves the button. The Gallery app offers enhanced stories, easier album management, remastering images, and the option to remove the location and other data while sharing photos.

The built-in image and video editor allows adding emojis and stickers to pictures and videos. It can make video collages of a set of images and highlight reels from your memories. When you edit images and videos, you can always revert through those edits to find the original file. It also lets you copy faces and objects from one picture and paste it onto other photos.

AR Emojis get more customization options, face stickers, and the option to make your AR avatar dance. The Calendar app gets quicker entries, a new widget, faster search, and easier time and date selection. Bixby and Bixby Routines get more features and more conditions. The tablet also gets enhanced Edge Panels and Picture-in-Picture Mode.

There's better charging mode information, better and faster search in Settings and all the stock apps, and a lot of new Accessibility features. Privacy and security have been improved through dedicated quick setting toggles to enable/disable camera and microphone access across the system. There's a Privacy Dashboard and privacy indicators for active camera and mic usage.
