Samsung has already updated some of its mid-range and high-end smartphones with its latest security patch. The company has now released the software update to the Galaxy Tab Active 3, a rugged tablet released last year with Android 10-based One UI 2.5.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 has started getting a new software update in Bulgaria, Greece, Switzerland, and the UK. The update has firmware version T575XXU3BUI8, and it includes the October 2021 security patch. Samsung hasn't published details regarding the bugs and vulnerabilities that were fixed with the October 2021 patch, but we expect the report to be posted within two weeks.
If you are a Galaxy Tab Active 3 user in any of the countries mentioned above, you might have received a notification of the new software update. If you haven't received it yet, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The tablet received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update a few months ago. More Galaxy smartphones and tablets are expected to get the October 2021 security patch over the next few weeks.
