The Android tablet world is about to receive a new gift from Samsung, as the company is ready to release the Galaxy Tab S10 series this year instead of the next. Samsung has set the wheels in motion, and production will reportedly begin soon.
There have been a few theories regarding the possible launch of the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup, and a new report lends more credibility to an early release. According to display analyst and CEO @DSCCRoss, Samsung is about to start manufacturing the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra in August.
The source adds that the production timeline is consistent with the October launch rumors and reveals that color options for both the Plus and Ultra tablets are Gray and Silver.
No mention of a standard Galaxy Tab S10
As you may have noticed, @DSCCRoss mentioned the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra without the base model. That's not by chance. The source says they have not spotted the base model on the “panel or tablet production side.”
This shouldn't be taken as a hard confirmation that there will be no base Galaxy Tab S10 model, even though there have been reports that Samsung might be planning on trimming down its Tab S series to two variants. For now, what it means is that, as of now, there's little to no information about Samsung's plans for the base Tab S10.
On the other hand, August is just around the corner, and production will reportedly begin very soon. Previous rumors said Samsung would shelve the base Tab S10 and release only the Plus and Ultra models. The Galaxy Tab S10+ was spotted recently on Geekbench, featuring a surprising chipset.
Exactly what will become of the Tab S10 lineup remains to be seen, but we will likely see before the end of 2024. Samsung has yet to confirm the Galaxy Tab S10 series' specs or when it will be released, but more and more evidence hints at an October launch, so more details should reach us sooner rather than later.
