It's been over a month since the 2022 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite refresh received Android 13, and the original model is now catching up. The Android 13 One UI 5.0 update is now available for the 2020 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE.
As of now, availability appears to be limited to the LTE model (SM-P615), but the Wi-Fi version (SM-P610) shouldn't be too far behind. Even for the LTE model, the update is available only in France as of this writing. But once again, it's likely that more countries across Europe and other continents will get One UI 5.0 soon.
Improving the experience of a 2.5-year-old Galaxy tablet
One UI 5.0 brings a new taskbar to Galaxy tablets. It improves multitasking and enables a more desktop-like experience for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The same goes for the new multi-window gestures, which make split-screen a breeze and a more integral part of the user experience.
Other goodies include better animations for the Recent Apps screen, a new “Connected devices” section inside the Settings app, a refreshed lock screen customization menu, and overall better performance thanks to optimization.
As a side note, the One UI 5.0 firmware update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with the November 2022 security patch. The update carries firmware version P615XXU4FWA5.
Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE (2020) users in Europe — or at least France — should be able to download the update via the Settings app once they access “Software update” and tap “Download and install.” SamMobile readers who prefer manual updates via a PC can download the official firmware from our website.
