Samsung is rolling out the October 2022 security patch to the Galaxy Tab S6, making it the first Galaxy tablet to get the latest security update. The update is being rolled out to the Galaxy Tab S6 users in many Asian countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, as well as in Australia and Germany.
The new update in Asia and Australia comes with firmware version T865XXU5DVJ1. In Germany, the new software bumps up the firmware version to T865XXU5DVH2. As mentioned earlier, the update brings October 2022 security patch with it, which fixes 47 security vulnerabilities. The tablet should notify you about the update automatically in a couple of days, but if it doesn’t, try checking for the update manually by going to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install.
The Galaxy Tab S6 was launched in 2019 with the Android 9 OS out of the box. Since then, Samsung has released three major Android OS upgrades to the tablet. Currently, the Galaxy Tab S6 runs on Android 12 with One UI 4 customizations. Most likely, Samsung will not offer the next version of Android to the tablet.
Although the brand has rolled out the October 2022 security patch to many of its smartphones, Samsung hasn’t offered it yet to any tablet apart from the Galaxy Tab S6.
