We didn't get any new phones or tablets at the latest Galaxy Unpacked 2 event, but even so, Samsung is working on a handful of new mobile devices that should be coming to the market in the following months. The Galaxy Tab S8 flagship tablet is one of them, and it was recently imagined in high-quality renders for the first time (via @OnLeaks / Zouton). Check out the gallery below for a closer look.
The renders aren't officially from Samsung, so they might not be entirely accurate, but they seem to have been based on leaked dimensions and specifications. In other words, even if they might not be 100% accurate, this is probably as close as we'll ever get to discovering the final design before the official unveiling, outside of looking at leaked official press renders.
Borrowing design cues from the Galaxy Tab S6 and Tab S7
According to these renders, the Galaxy Tab S8 looks almost identical to the Galaxy Tab S7. The bezels look similarly sized, though previous rumors claim that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra — which has yet to be leaked in renders — could benefit from thinner bezels thanks to the use of BRS (Border Reduction Structure) technology.
As for the base Galaxy Tab S8 variant, it seems to have a dual-camera setup that looks a lot like the one you'll find on the back of the Galaxy Tab S7. In fact, the main design detail differentiating the two tablets lies in the location of the magnetic S Pen holder. For the Galaxy Tab S8, the S Pen area no longer blends in with the camera housing, and in a way, it looks more similar to the Galaxy Tab S6.
The launch of the Galaxy Tab S8 series remains somewhat questionable due to the global semiconductor shortage, and rumor has it that the Ultra model might be very difficult to find. We should be finding out more in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
