During the Galaxy Unpacked event in South Korea, Samsung finally unveiled its newest high-end tablets—Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. These new tablets bring faster and improved sustained performance, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and some models get improved rear cameras. Samsung has debuted the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra with Android 13 and One UI 5.1.1. Like all flagship Galaxy devices, the three models will get regular software updates, but for how long?
Galaxy Tab S9 will get four major Android OS updates
Samsung is the best in the business regarding software updates in the Android segment, and its tablets get software support that is unmatched by other Android tablet makers. The South Korean firm has announced that it will release four major Android OS updates to the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
It means that Android 17 will be the final major Android OS update for these devices. Their first big update will bring Android 14 and One UI 6.0, likely before 2023 is over. The Galaxy Tab S9 series will also get security updates for five years after launch. However, it should be noted that, unlike Samsung's flagship smartphones, its tablets get quarterly security updates from day one instead of getting them on a monthly basis.
