Samsung has released the first software update of the year to the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The new update brings the February 2025 security patch to the tablets in the lineup and nothing else. So, where is the update currently available?

Galaxy Tab S9 gets February 2025 security update in Europe

The Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra have started getting a new software update in Europe. It brings the February 2025 security patch that fixes several security loopholes found in the previous software version. It doesn't look like it brings any performance enhancements or new features.

The firmware version of the new software for each tablet in the lineup is listed below.

  • X716BXXS5BYA5: Galaxy Tab S9
  • X816BXXS5BYA5: Galaxy Tab S9+
  • X916BXXS5BYA5: Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra

In the next couple of months, Samsung will likely release the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. It will bring a major UI redesign featuring smoother animations and transitions. It could also introduce new Galaxy AI features.
