Tipster @Tech_Reve has spotted the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with model number SM-X916B in Geekbench's database. The listing shows that the upcoming flagship tablet uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor (codename Kalama). It has a peak CPU clock speed of 3.36GHz for the prime CPU core, 2.8GHz clock speed for its four high-performance cores, and 2GHz clock speed for its three power-efficient cores.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy inside Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra outperforms Galaxy S23
The tablet is running Android 13 and has scored 2,054 points in Geekbench 6.0's single-core CPU benchmark and 5,426 points in the multi-core CPU benchmark. These scores are even better than the Galaxy S23 series, which scores around 1,950 points in the single-core test and around 4,850 points in the multi-core test. This is probably due to better heat dissipation, as tablets have more room inside than phones.
If these numbers are correct, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (and other Galaxy Tab S9 series devices) could have better gaming performance and better performance under sustained load compared to the already great Galaxy S23 Ultra. And that is a huge bonus for mobile gamers as the device could offer higher frame rates or smooth performance during long gaming sessions.
