Alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Watch 6, Samsung is expected to unveil three new high-end tablets at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The event will take place on July 26 in South Korea, but ahead of the launch event, complete Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra specifications have leaked from a reliable source.
Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra specifications leak reveals Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
If the leaked specifications posted by reliable tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) are to be believed, Samsung is bringing only minor improvements with the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Apart from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, not much has changed compared to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The tablet will reportedly feature a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen (120Hz variable refresh rate), a quad-speaker setup, and an 11,200mAh battery. The screen still has a notch to house a dual-front-facing camera setup.
The tablet reportedly features a 13MP primary rear camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and two 12MP front-facing cameras. The 8MP ultrawide camera on the rear is an upgrade over the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra's 6MP ultrawide camera. However, it is a minor upgrade, and it would've been better if it was a 12MP ultrawide camera. One of the two front-facing 12MP cameras is an ultrawide unit, while the other is a wide-angle unit.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra reportedly runs Android 13 out of the box, but the leaked images don't reveal the One UI version. We expect it to debut with One UI 5.1.1, which brings lots of new features primarily targeted toward multitasking and productivity. The tablet will have a 5G version, similar to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. It will have a physical SIM card slot and an eSIM. It will also have a microSD card slot.
Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra has a sleeker camera design
Evan Blass also published a few images of the tablet and its accessories, but those images were taken down after they were captured by 9To5Google (see pictures here). Photos reveal that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra has a design that's broadly similar to its predecessor. However, the camera setup on the rear appears simpler, now separated from the magnetic charging dock for the S Pen. It looks aligned with the current-generation Galaxy smartphone lineup, featuring individual camera rings.
The tablet will also have an optional Book Cover Keyboard, just like the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra had. We couldn't notice any changes to the design of this keyboard cover. It has a tenkeyless keyboard layout and a multitouch trackpad. Other features of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra could include GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, USB 3.2 Type-C port, DeX (Wired & Wireless), and 45W fast charging.
