Samsung has released a critical health feature called Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) to its Wear OS-based Galaxy Watches in India. A few days ago, we reported that the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic received the feature. However, the new feature has been released to all Wear OS-based Galaxy Watches via Samsung Health Monitor.

This feature was first launched with the Galaxy Watch 6.

Wear OS-based Galaxy Watches get Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature

The Samsung Health Monitor app received a new 58.54MB update (version 1.3.4.004) earlier this week. That update added the IHRN feature, which is available on all Wear OS-based Galaxy Watches, including the smartwatches listed below.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification India

The Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature notifies you if your Galaxy Watch detects an irregular heart rate, which could indicate a heart-related health risk. When the IHRN feature is active, the Galaxy Watch checks your pulse and notifies you if it detects irregular heart rhythm.

The story continues after our Galaxy Watch Ultra review video.

How does Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature work on Galaxy Watches?

Once you install the Samsung Health Monitor app from the Galaxy Store on your Galaxy Watch, it will display a pop-up screen to notify you about the IHRN feature and how to use it. Once the feature is activated and fully set up, the Galaxy Watch will notify you if it detects one hour of an irregular heart rhythm, which might indicate Atrial Fibrillation (A.Fib). It uses the BioActive Sensor on the back of the Galaxy Watch to detect IHRN.

Check out this article to learn how to activate the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature on a compatible Galaxy Watch in a country where the feature is available. Samsung released the Blood Pressure and Electrocardiograph feature in India earlier this year by releasing the Samsung Health Monitor app after getting certification from the appropriate Indian certification agency. Now, it has released the IHRN feature, which is a plus for every user.
