Samsung has released the second beta version of the One UI Watch 5 update just one week after releasing the first beta update last week. The new One UI Watch 5 Beta update is now available to the Galaxy Watch 4 series and the Galaxy Watch 5 series in South Korea and the US.
One UI Watch 5 Beta 2 update: What's new?
The second One UI Watch 5 update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5 comes with firmware version R870XXU1ZWF4 (via Yash Rathore). It is a 188.72MB update, and it brings along the June 2023 security patch to the smartwatches. According to the changelog, Samsung has improved its performance and fixed a lot of bugs.
The new update has fixed the sluggishness of the smartwatches that was noticed just after powering them on. Samsung has also fixed Samsung Pay, which means you can now use the mobile payment service. After installing the update, some users reported lower battery life. With the new update, Samsung has fixed the issue, and users can now expect long battery life. Samsung has also added automatic recognition of the Bicycle Riding exercise.
If you have enrolled your Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 5 device in the One UI Watch 5 Beta program, you can check for the new update by opening the Galaxy Wearable app and navigating to Settings » Watch software update and tapping Download and install.
