The Galaxy Watch 4 is going to be an interesting device. It will be the first smartwatch to run on Samsung and Google's unified Wear platform. Samsung has already confirmed that it's smartwatches will no longer run Tizen.
Information about the Galaxy Watch 4 has been coming out in bits and pieces over the past few months. The latest leak tells us about the Galaxy Watch 4 battery size. Looks like it's going to be business as usual in the battery department.
Galaxy Watch 4 may still offer improved battery life
The latest SGS certification of the Galaxy Watch 4 has revealed information about its battery size. The SM-R860 and SM-R865F models of the Galaxy Watch 4 have now been certified. The listing reveals that this particular model, the 41mm variant of the Galaxy Watch 4, will have a 247mAh battery. It supports 5W charging.
There's no meaningful change in the battery capacity compared to the Galaxy Watch 3. That's not to say that the upcoming smartwatch won't offer all-day battery life. The Galaxy Watch 3 is quite capable of getting you through the day before needing a charge.
It's also possible that Samsung might be able to extract more longevity out of this battery. Improved battery life was one of the benefits of the new Wear platform that was highlighted last month. Samsung is yet to confirm when it plans on launching the new smartwatch. It's quite possible that the Galaxy Watch 4 may arrive alongside the new foldable smartphones in July.
