Galaxy Watch 4 gets One UI 6 Watch update in USA
The Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have started getting the One UI 6 Watch update in the USA. The update is available for both Wi-Fi and cellular variants of the watches.
The update comes with firmware version R8x5USQU1IXK1 and a download size of around 1.8GB. However, it is still on the October 2024 security patch, not the December 2024 patch.
If you are using a Galaxy Watch 4 or a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and live in the USA, you can check for the new update by opening the Wearable app on your phone and navigating to Watch settings » Watch software update » Download and install.
What's new with One UI 6 Watch update for Galaxy Watch 6?
The One UI 6 Watch update is based on Wear OS 5. It brings a slightly refreshed UI design, three new first-party watch faces, improved sleep analysis, AI-powered personalized health recommendations, and new gestures.
The update also brings enhanced graphics for Tiles, the same styling of buttons and toggles as One UI Watch software on Galaxy phones, personal workout routines, and AI-powered reply suggestions.
One UI 6 Watch brings faster access to favorite emojis and the ability to control app notifications directly from the Galaxy Watch 4. The Watch can now restart automatically when its battery dies, and you connect it to a charger.
When you play music on your Galaxy Watch 4, it can automatically connect to a paired Bluetooth speaker or wireless earbuds. If the music player supports a loudspeaker, it can play music via the loudspeaker.
