Samsung is rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It bumps the firmware version of the Watch 4 to R860XXU1HXB7 and of the Watch 4 Classic to R870XXU1HXB7 and brings three changes.
First, it offers the March 2024 security patch which fixes more than a dozen security issues, making the two smartwatches more secure. Second, now when you connect the Galaxy Watch 4 or the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with a TV or smart monitor from Samsung that was launched this year, you will be able to see workout data from your watch on the big screen, giving you a better user experience when working out by leveraging the Samsung ecosystem. Third, it improves the stability of the device.
Samsung has made the update available in Korea, and it should do so in other regions gradually over the next few weeks. The company rolled out the same update to the Galaxy Watch 6 last week and to the Galaxy Watch 5 earlier this week.
