The Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are the best Wear OS smartwatches in the market right now, thanks to great designs, faster chips, excellent displays, and some unique features (like body fat composition measurement). However, Samsung might not rest on its laurels as it will reportedly improve its next-generation smartwatch even further.
According to a new report from ETNews, the Galaxy Watch 5 will sport a temperature sensor. It means that the smartwatch can continue monitoring your skin temperature and let you know if you have signs of fever. Since skin temperature can be affected by various reasons, including sun exposure and workouts, companies like Apple and Samsung have been delaying the introduction of temperature sensors in their watches. However, the South Korean tech giant seems to have devised a method to measure temperature accurately.
It is also being reported that Samsung will launch its next-generation Galaxy Buds will be released in the second half of 2022. The upcoming wireless earbuds could feature temperature monitoring through infrared wavelengths emitted from the eardrum. Even Apple is expected to bring temperature monitoring to its next-generation AirPods and Apple Watch.
The wearable market increased 50% in 2020 and 20% in 2021. Samsung is focusing on improving its wearable market share this year through multiple products. The South Korean firm expects to see double-digit growth in 2022 by adding improved health and fitness monitoring features to its wearable products.
