A few days ago, Samsung released a major software update to Galaxy Watches that fixed bugs and added workout integration for Samsung TVs. However, it also introduced a touchscreen-related bug to the Galaxy Watch 6 series, which is now being fixed with a new update.
Galaxy Watch 6 gets a new update to fix touchscreen issue
The latest update for the Galaxy Watch 6 is now available in South Korea. It comes with firmware version R930XXU1AXC2 and has a download size of 136.34MB. The update could be slightly different for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. It could be released in other countries in the next few days. Apart from reliability improvements, the update also fixes the touchscreen issue that stopped the watch from waking up when the screen was touched.
If you have a Galaxy Watch 6 series smartwatch and live in South Korea, you can install the update by opening the Wearable app on your phone, navigating to Watch settings » Watch software update, and tapping Download and install. The update still doesn't bring the April 2024 security patch, though.
The Galaxy Watch 6 series was launched last year with Wear OS 5-based One UI 5.0 Watch pre-installed. It could get the Wear OS 6-based One UI 6.0 Watch later this year. You can watch our Galaxy Watch 6 Classic review in the video above.
