As you may have heard, Samsung issued another reminder today about how the One UI Watch 5 update will eventually be released for older smartwatch models, but no older than 2021. In other words, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 lineups will get the update, while older models will not (since they don't run Wear OS). But the company does have a small surprise in store for Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 users.
In its latest teaser announcement concerning One UI Watch 5 and the 2021 and 2022 smartwatch models, Samsung snuck in a bit of good news for Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 users. They'll soon get a couple of new and exciting watch faces.

One UI Watch 5 face designs are coming to Tizen OS
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 were never updated to Wear OS. They still run Samsung's proprietary Tizen OS, and they always will. But even if Samsung's latest smartwatches now run Google's firmware, the company hasn't entirely forgotten about its older Tizen smartwatches.
Today, Samsung announced that a great selection of stylish and informative One UI Watch 5 watch faces will be made available for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 lineups. But more surprising is that the Stretched Time and Perpetual watch faces will also be released onto the older Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3.
When? Samsung says these watch faces will land on the Tizen OS smartwatches “this fall” but hasn't revealed an exact date.
That wraps it up. If you want to take advantage of upgraded sleep and fitness features, as well as newer hardware, your only option is to upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 6 series or buy a Watch 5. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is still relevant even after Galaxy Unpacked, as it offers the most battery life and exclusively supports GPX File Database features.
