Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
The Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are Samsung's first smartwatches to run Wear OS 7 (One UI 9 Watch) out of the box. In addition to upgraded health, fitness, and wellness capabilities, the software brings new watch faces and improved Gemini integration.
Google's Pixel Watch 5 was also launched with Wear OS 7 and includes offline Gemini support. This means the AI assistant can work even when the smartwatch is not connected to the internet (via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi). Although this offline capability is currently limited to the Pixel Watch 5, it will likely arrive on the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in a future software update.
Offline Gemini allows you to execute basic voice commands without a connection. These include setting a timer, toggling the water lock, activating the flashlight or Wi-Fi, starting workouts, and controlling music playback and volume.
To use this feature, the Gemini app must be updated to version 1.36 (or later) via the Play Store on a Wear OS device. It also needs a modern processor, like the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip found in the latest Galaxy Watches.
