Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 gets its first software update

Samsung has released the first software update for its latest flagship smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. It brings the August 2026 security patch, which fixes 56 security issues present in the firmware the brand shipped the wearable with.

Samsung seems to have released the update first for the variant of the smartwatch it sells in the US, which has the model number SM-L715U. The update carries firmware version L715USQS1AZH4 (via Verizon, DroidLife).

We expect Samsung to release the August 2026 security patch to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in other countries in the coming days. You can check its availability and get it by opening the Galaxy Wearable app on your Android phone and going to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.

It is worth pointing out that Samsung has already offered the August 2026 security update to the other smartwatch the company launched alongside the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which was the Galaxy Watch 9. The tech giant has also released it for many Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
