After releasing the stable Android 12 update to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in a few markets last month, Samsung had released it on Verizon's network in the US a few days ago. Now, more Galaxy Z Flip 3 units have started getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in the US.
The new software update for the US carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with firmware version F711USQS2BUL7. It is now available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile's networks. Other carriers could release the update within a couple of days. For the unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 variant, the Android 12 update comes with firmware version F711U1UES2BUL7, and it is available on almost all carrier networks. The new updates also come with the December 2021 security patch.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 3 user in the US, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows computer.
The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update brings a slightly new design, new widgets, more lock screen widgets, AoD options, and the Color Palette feature. It also brings improved privacy and security via privacy indicators and quick setting toggles for camera and microphone access. Samsung has also added improved versions of its stock apps, Bixby, and Bixby Routines.
