The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has become the first smartphone to get the February 2024 security update. More Galaxy smartphones and tablets will get the new security update within the next few weeks. The update will likely arrive for high-end phones first and then expand to more mid-range and affordable devices.
Galaxy Z FLip 3 gets February 2024 security update in European countries
The new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes bearing firmware version F711BXXS7GXAC. It is rolling out in Europe and could expand to more countries in the near future. Samsung hasn't revealed which security vulnerabilities have been fixed with the February 2024 security patch, and we expect that information to be made public later this week, at least going by Samsung's track record. The update contains only fixes for security vulnerabilities and likely includes dozens of bug fixes. Don't expect it to bring new features or performance improvements.
If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 3 and live in Europe, you can now head over to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install to check for the new update. Alternatively, you can download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually if you don't want to wait for the OTA (over-the-air) update.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in mid-2021 with Android 11 onboard. The phone received the Android 12 update in late 2021 and the Android 13 update in late 2022. A couple of months ago, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. It will likely get one more Android OS update later this year.
