Users of Samsung's older foldable phones have been waiting for the Android 14 update for a few weeks now. And some of them got rewarded, as the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 received the Android 14 update in the US yesterday.
Now, the factory-unlocked versions of the phones have started getting the update in the US.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3 get Android 14 update in the US
The Android 14 update is now available for the factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US. The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with firmware version F711U1UEU5HWL1, and it is available on US Cellular's network in the country.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is getting the update with firmware version F926U1UEU4HWL1. It is available on US Cellular's network as well. More carriers could release the new update to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the next few days. The updates also bring the December 2023 security patch to both phones.
If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 3 or the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US, you can now check for the new Android 14 update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

One UI 6.0 brings several new features to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It introduces a brand-new Quick Panel layout, a new font, new emoji designs, and a slightly tweaked design for notifications. The media player widget that appears in the notifications area has been revamped, and it now features a waveform animation.
The built-in apps have improved, too. The image and video editors now have prominent editing controls. The built-in video player is now called Samsung Studio, and it supports drafts, so you can continue editing videos where you left them. The camera app now has earlier controls.
