Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 gets August 2023 security update in India

Samsung has started rolling out the first Galaxy Z Flip 5 software update. The phone was announced late last month and became available for purchase earlier this month. Now, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is getting its first security update. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 should also get the new update shortly.

The latest Galaxy Z Flip 5 software update comes with firmware version F731BXXS1AWH3. It is a 328.59MB update, and it is rolling out in India and a few other countries. It brings the August 2023 security patch that fixes over 70 security flaws in Galaxy phones and tablets. It doesn't get any new features or performance improvements.

If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 5 in India, you can immediately check for the new update. You can download the latest software by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 out of the box. The company has promised to offer four Android OS updates and up to five years of security updates. The first significant update for the phone will be Android 14-based One UI 6, which could be released before the end of this year.
