The Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung's latest and greatest clamshell foldable, has started receiving the December 2023 security update. The update has made its first appearance in Ukraine and New Zealand, countries where the Galaxy Z Flip 5 was updated to Android 14/One UI 6 two earlier this month.

Like other Samsung Galaxy smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is getting fixes for 54 security vulnerabilities discovered in the Android operating system and 16 that affect Samsung's software with the December update. It misses out on fixes for vulnerabilities that affect some Exynos chips as it is powered exclusively by a Snapdragon chip worldwide.
To download the latest update for your Z Flip 5, open its Settings app, select Software update, and hit the Download and install option. You may need to do this a few times before the update shows up, though you can skip the wait and upgrade your phone using firmware files available in our firmware archive.
