Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Depending on your country, this may be the second or third update for your Galaxy Z Flip 5 following the One UI 6.1 update that was released in late March.
The latest update for the clamshell foldable brings with it the May 2024 security patch to address security vulnerabilities. It is available in Europe and the USA, with the latter seeing a release for both unlocked and carrier-locked units.
This update does not have anything but security enhancements to offer, which may be disappointing for those who have been experiencing higher battery drain on One UI 6.1. Samsung has made no official comment on whether the higher battery drain is a problem it is actively working to fix, though the company will hopefully address the issue with the next update for the Z Flip 5.
To download the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 update, head into your phone's settings, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. Feel free to use our firmware archive as an alternate method for updating the phone, though this method requires the use of a Windows PC and a USB-C cable.
