Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 next month. Ahead of the official announcement, several aspects of the upcoming foldable phones have leaked, including their designs and specifications. Now, a new report claims to reveal the Galaxy Z Flip 5's specifications and claims that the device is more durable than its predecessor.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 could be 50% more durable than Galaxy Z Flip 4
According to tipster Ahmed Qwaider, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is 50% more durable than the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The upcoming foldable phone reportedly has a 30% improved Flex Mode and 45% improved design, but the tipster doesn't delve much into the specifics. The phone is said to have a 3.4-inch cover screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x primary screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 reportedly features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The tipster also claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 12MP+12MP dual camera setup with Gorilla Glass DX protection for the camera sensors. It has a 10MP selfie camera, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a 3,700mAh battery, 25W fast wired charging, and an IPX8 rating for water resistance. It is reported that the Galaxy Z Flip 5's hinge can withstand 200,000 folds and unfolds, similar to its predecessor.
On the software front, Samsung will reportedly offer more camera settings on the cover display. It will also offer password protection for the cover screen. To save the battery, the phone's internal screen will reportedly turn off when the phone is folded at an angle of 20 degrees. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will reportedly be just 15.1mm thin when folded completely.
