Samsung started rolling out the August 2021 security update two weeks ago. The Galaxy A52 was the first smartphone to get the update. Last week, the Galaxy Z Flip picked up the latest security patch, and now, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has started getting it in various European countries.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G's (SM-F707B) latest update has firmware version F707BXXS4DUG3, and it includes the August 2021 security patch. As per Samsung's documentation, the new security patch fixes 40 vulnerabilities related to security and privacy on Galaxy devices. As usual, the new firmware might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
The update is currently available in Austria, Baltic countries, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 5G user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download the update right away by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G was launched in August 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. Earlier this year, the foldable smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update and the One UI 3.1 update in February 2021. The phone gets monthly security updates, and it will get two more major Android OS updates in the future.
