Samsung has released the August 2024 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the USA. Many other high-end phones from the South Korean firm have already received this new update.

The newest security patch for Android is now rolling out to the factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Both smartphones are getting the August 2024 security patch that fixes nearly 50 security loopholes in the previous software version.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G update bears firmware version F707U1UES9IXH1 and is available on Sprint's network in the US. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is getting the new security update with firmware version F916U1UES7KXH1, and it is available on AT&T and Sprint networks in the country.
If you have unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 5G or Galaxy Z Fold 2 and live in the US, you can now check for the new software update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually on your phone using the Odil tool.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 were launched in mid-2020 with Android 10 onboard. The foldable smartphones received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, the Android 13 update in late 2022, and the Android 14 update at the end of 2023. None of those devices will get the Android 15 update later this year.
