Samsung rolled out the first software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 earlier this month. The update was initially released in Korea, and now, it appears to be rolling out in several other countries and regions, including the USA, the UK, and possibly Europe.
The update in question comes with a build number ending with the characters AXH7. It brings the August 2024 security patch to the stylish foldable, along with stability and reliability improvements.
To download the update on your Galaxy Z Flip 6, navigate to the phone's Settings » Software update menu and tap Download and install. Galaxy Z Flip 6 firmware are available for download on SamMobile, and they can be used as an alternate method for upgrading the phone, though this method requires access to a Windows PC and a USB-C cable.
This update is the first of many software updates the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive in the future. Samsung's new foldables are eligible for seven years of updates, and later this year, they will receive their first major OS upgrade in the form of Android 15 and One UI 7.0.
One UI 7.0 will bring a major visual overhaul to the user interface, which means that many Galaxy Z Flip 6 users will see a refreshed UI very soon after buying one. It will also come with new features, like any major One UI update, though it's highly unlikely that it will have any features designed to take advantage of the foldable form factor.
