Samsung is expected to unveil multiple new devices at its next Galaxy Unpacked event in early July. One of those devices will be the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The device is expected to bring minor improvements. Some of the Galaxy Z Flip 6's battery and connectivity-related details have now leaked.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 battery and connectivity revealed through FCC certification
A new Samsung device with model number SM-F741B received the FCC certification a few hours ago (via MySmartPrice). It is the global variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This document has revealed the phone's battery, charging, and connectivity details.
According to the information, it has two batteries: EB-BF741ABY (1,097mAh) and EB-BF742ABY (2,790mAh). Both batteries are manufactured by ATL, and previous reports have revealed that their combined battery capacity is 3,887mAh. This is the rated battery capacity of the phone, and its marketed capacity will likely be 4,000mAh.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6's FCC certification also reveals that it features GPS, 5G (mmWave and sub-6GHz bands), Wi-Fi b/g/n/a/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth, and NFC. This means the upcoming flip phone from Samsung won't support Wi-Fi 7, as we reported earlier. Its charging was tested using the EP-TA800 charger, a 25W USB PD charger with PPS.
The device will likely continue using the same design as the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and you can watch that design in our video below.
Expected Galaxy Z Flip 6 specifications
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, 8GB/12GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage. It will run Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software out of the box and get seven years of Android OS and security updates.
It will likely continue using screens of the same size as its predecessor. So, it is expected to sport a 3.4-inch OLED cover screen and a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED foldable screen. It isn't clear if the cover screen will have a high-refresh-rate display. It will likely feature an IPX8 rating, stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Samsung is rumored to have updated the Galaxy Z Flip 6's primary rear camera with a 50MP resolution, an upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip 5's 12MP primary rear camera. The 10MP selfie camera and 12MP ultrawide camera could remain the same as last year's model.
