Samsung introduced Galaxy AI with the Galaxy S24 earlier this year. The company is now adding new Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The latest flip phone runs One UI 6.1.1, offering two advantages through a new AI-powered feature.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 Suggested Replies feature is powered by Galaxy AI
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 runs One UI 6.1.1 out of the box, and the new software makes better use of the cover screen. The Suggested Replies feature uses the context of your text messages to present you with some suggested replies, making your life a bit easier.
Whenever you get a new message on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy AI checks your chat thread for context and offers suggested replies. Those suggested replies appear on the cover screen after you press the ‘Suggest Replies' button under the received message. You get three options, and you can choose any one of them. This AI processing happens on-device, so your data is private, and the response time is fast.
It saves you time, as you don't have to type on the Galaxy Z Flip 6's smaller screen. Moreover, since you don't have to open the main screen as much, it saves a little power, leading to a slightly longer battery life. However, it also depends on how many messages you get throughout the day.
This feature works on the stock Messages app as well as third-party messaging apps. We tested it on Instagram, Slack, and WhatsApp, and it works perfectly. Since it works on all these instant messaging apps, we think it will also work well with other messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Teams, and Telegram.

This feature could be released to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with the One UI 6.1.1 update in the next couple of months. Last year's Samsung flip phone also features a 3.4-inch cover screen and Galaxy AI.
Remember, the Suggested Replies feature differs from Quick Responses, an existing feature that lets you send quick replies from preset options. It isn't powered by AI, so the replies are standard and don't change based on what the other person is saying. You can add custom Quick Responses.
