Yes, the image and video quality is better than the Galaxy Z Flip 4, but it's not a substantial improvement. Next year, though, the company is looking to bring a big change to the camera with the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 could feature a 50MP primary camera
According to GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is currently being tested at Samsung, and the prototypes feature a 50MP primary camera. That is a substantial improvement over the Galaxy Z Flip 5's 12MP primary camera.
The prototype of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is codenamed B6 (the Galaxy Z Flip 5 codename was B5), while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 codename is Q6. While no details about the new 50MP camera sensor are available at this moment, if we were to guess, it could be the same 50MP camera used in the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+.
Whether or not the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will bring an improved ultrawide camera or the selfie camera remains to be seen. It would be logical for Samsung to upgrade the selfie camera to a 12MP sensor, similar to the Galaxy S23 series, but nothing is concrete yet as we are one year away from the possible launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a newer Snapdragon processor (4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3). The company could also improve some aspects of the foldable screen and software. The devices will likely launch with Android 14-based One UI 6 software onboard. We would like to see higher battery capacity on both phones, though.
