Later today, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Most of their specifications have already leaked, and they will probably not bring any major hardware improvements. However, thanks to Galaxy AI, their sales are still expected to reach record-high levels.

Record-high Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 sales expected, powered by Galaxy AI

According to a report from Counterpoint Research (via Android Authority), sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 are expected to be 30% higher than their predecessors. Galaxy AI is said to be the primary driving force behind record-high sales of these upcoming foldable phones.

The Galaxy S24 didn't bring major hardware improvements compared to the Galaxy S23, but the phones still achieved record-high sales earlier this year, and Samsung claimed that Galaxy AI was the primary reason for higher sales. The same could be valid for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The report from Counterpoint Research says sales of Samsung's foldable phones will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18% over the next four years, thanks to Samsung's continued investments in AI and AI-related features.

The South Korean firm is estimated to have a 35% share of the global foldable smartphone market by 2028.

What is Galaxy AI? We have explained it in our detailed video below.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will get additional Galaxy AI features in addition to those already available in the Galaxy S24 series. Both phones will run Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software out of the box. They will likely get seven major Android OS and security updates.

What to expect from Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6?

Both upcoming foldable phones from Samsung will have an aluminum frame, IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor, and 12GB RAM.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 are expected to feature 50MP primary rear cameras, 12MP ultrawide cameras, and 10MP selfie cameras. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will also have a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. Both can record 4K 60fps videos. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 may also be able to record 8K 30fps videos.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen on the inside and a 3.4-inch OLED cover screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED cover screen and a 7.6-inch 120Hz OLED internal screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to have shorter and wider screens.

Both phones could have a less visible screen crease, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers.
