Samsung's next foldable smartphones include the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Both phones will likely feature newer chips, improved cameras, and bigger batteries, but one thing could remain the same as their predecessors: fast charging speed.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 might not get charging speed boost
Two new Samsung smartphones, bearing model numbers SM-F7660 and SM-F9660, recently cleared the China Compulsory Certification (CCC or 3C). Looking at their model numbers, they are most likely the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 for the Chinese market.
Supporting documents reveal (via XpertPick) that both phones were tested with the EP-TA800 charger (9V / 2.77A), which maxes out at 25W. The charger's name is shown in the image below.
This doesn't necessarily mean these upcoming phones won't support higher charging speeds. It is just that these phones were tested with a 25W charger. If this is their fastest charging speed, it would be the fifth year Samsung has not upgraded the charging speed after upgrading it from 15W to 25W with the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Rumored Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 specifications
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is reportedly powered by a 4,300mAh battery, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could stick to a 4,400mAh battery. These batteries will power bigger screens. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is said to feature a 6.85-inch foldable screen and a 4-inch cover screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.2-inch foldable screen.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor, 12GB or more RAM, and 256GB or higher storage. Both phones are expected to feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 could have a 50MP + 12MP dual-camera setup on the rear. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 reportedly features a triple-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 200MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Both phones are expected to have a 10MP or 12MP selfie camera.
