Samsung launched its first smartphone with a clamshell foldable display, the Galaxy Z Flip, in 2020. Since then, the brand has released a new Galaxy Z Flip model every year. The company’s next offering in the lineup, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, is expected to arrive on July 22, 2026, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series.

Last month, a report about the phone claimed that it could be the last device in the Galaxy Z Flip lineup. However, many people refused to believe it. Now, another report has surfaced online, echoing the same claim and lending more credibility to the possibility that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be the final model in the series.

On X, @fireuniverse8 claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be the last Galaxy Z Flip device. According to the tipster, the brand plans to discontinue the Galaxy Z Flip lineup to focus more on the Galaxy Z Fold series. If that turns out to be true, the Galaxy Z Flip would become the second major smartphone lineup the company has discontinued after the Galaxy Note series.

The tipster also claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. However, that isn't a surprise, as previous reports have already suggested the same. That said, earlier reports have also claimed that the tech giant could equip the phone with the Exynos 2600 chipset in some regions, while others may get the Snapdragon variant.
