Last week, Samsung released the April 2023 security update to the Galaxy S23 in South Korea and then in Europe. Now, more Galaxy smartphones have started getting the latest security update. The company has released the April 2023 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with firmware version F721U1UES2CWC9 in the US. This is the unlocked version of the foldable smartphone for the US. For the unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the new security update comes with firmware version F936U1UES2CWC9. Currently, both phones are getting the new update on T-Mobile's network in the US, and we expect the update's availability to expand to more carriers in the country.
April 2023 security patch for Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 fixes over 60 security vulnerabilities
Samsung revealed earlier today that its April 2023 security patch fixes 66 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Some of those flaws were termed critical and affected devices featuring an Exynos processor.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4 user in the US with an unlocked device, you can soon download and install the update on your phone. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the appropriate (and newest) firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
