The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has started getting the latest security update in more countries. The December 2023 update for Samsung's second flagship foldable was initially released in the US a few days back and is now making its way to several other regions and markets.
The latest update for the Z Fold 2 is packed with fixes for various security vulnerabilities. A total of 75 vulnerabilities have been fixed in the December patch, with 19 of them specifically affecting Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. No other changes are included in the update.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 will only get security updates going forward
That will likely be the case for any future Z Fold 2 updates as well. The device was updated to Android 13 and One UI 5.0 late last year; in 2023, it was updated to One UI 5.1 and One UI 5.1.1 and is no longer eligible for Android or One UI version updates.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 owners can check for and download the December update from the Software update section of the device's settings. They can also upgrade their phone using firmware available in the SamMobile archive, though a Windows PC and a USB cable are required for this method.
