Earlier this month, Samsung released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. However, back then, the update was limited to Asian, European, and Latin American countries. The South Korean firm has now released the new software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the US.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with firmware version F916USQS2JWE4, and it is available on Sprint and T-Mobile networks in the US. The update includes the May 2023 security patch that fixes 72 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It doesn't bring any new features to the foldable smartphone.

If you have the Galaxy Z Fold 2's unlocked version in the US, you can now check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also use the manual firmware flashing process to update the device. To do that, you need to download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it using a Windows PC.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in mid-2020 with Android 10 onboard. The foldable phone received the Android 11 update in early 2021, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The company released the One UI 5.1 update to the device a few months ago.
