Samsung has been making the best foldable phones over the past three years. However, it will soon start facing some competition from OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi. The South Korean firm appears to be improving its foldable phones, starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
According to the latest rumor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will feature a slightly wider and shorter foldable display compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 4's inner display has a 23:9 aspect ratio compared to Galaxy Z Fold 3's 24.5:9. Even the cover display is said to be wider (6:5 aspect ratio compared to Galaxy Z Fold 3's 5:4 screen).
In our Galaxy Z Fold 4 wishlist, we mentioned that making the displays shorter and wider would result in better typing on the cover display and video consumption on the inner display.
Ice Universe also claimed that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 features a 3,700mAh battery. If this is true, it could end the flip phone form factor's battery life woes to a large extent. However, take this information with a pinch of salt as certifications show that the battery capacity could be 3,400mAh. The Galaxy Z Fold 4's battery capacity will stay similar to its predecessor, at 4,400mAh.
Both foldable phones will feature 25W fast charging, fast wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 could also get upgraded cameras. The Z Fold 4 is rumored to feature a 108MP primary camera and a 3x optical zoom telephoto camera. These upcoming phones are also expected to use more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipsets.
