Samsung has released a new security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The update improves the foldable smartphone's security, and it is available in most countries worldwide, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 gets October 2024 security update
The newest software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 improves the phone's security. It brings the October 2024 security patch that fixes over 40 vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. It doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.
The update is available in African, Asian, and European countries with firmware version F936BXXS8GXIC. In Canada, the update comes with firmware version F936WVLS3DWI1. In Samsung's home country, South Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting the update with firmware version F936NKSS4GXIC.
In the US, the carrier-locked and factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 are getting the update with firmware versions F936USQS6GXIC and F936U1UES6GXIC, respectively.

If you have a Galaxy Z Fold 4, you can check for the new software update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware version for your Z Fold 4 and flash it manually using the Odin tool.

The next big software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will arrive early next year when it will get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. It brings a major UI design revamp, improved animations and transitions, a new battery icon and charging animation, a two-page Quick Panel layout that is more customizable, and new app icons.
