Now that all the hype around the Galaxy S23 is almost over, it is time for us to shift our focus to Samsung's next high-end smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Now, some interesting information has come out regarding to the two upcoming foldable smartphones.
Image quality improvements with Galaxy Z Fold 5 camera to mostly come with improved processing
Tipster @chunvn8888 has reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature the same camera setup as the Galaxy S23+. If this information is correct, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 could come with a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 12MP selfie camera with autofocus. There is no information about the phone's internal selfie camera, but we expect an improvement in image quality.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to continue with a dual-camera setup, but the device could come with an upgraded 12MP primary camera. Whether it is a bigger sensor or has some other special capability is unclear at this point. But we would put our money on the sensor being bigger than the 12MP primary camera that's used in the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
So, when it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the only image quality improvements that we can expect from it might come from improved processing and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chipset's ISP (Image Signal Processor). The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 are expected to feature the same processor as the Galaxy S23 series. They might also feature improved connectivity and longer battery life.
