One of the great things about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the fact that it supports the S Pen. The Galaxy Z Fold series is the only foldable from Samsung that works with the S Pen. The company introduced this support with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and has retained it every since.
However, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 doesn't ship with an S Pen, so if you don't have one lying around, you'll need to purchase one separately. You don't necessarily need to buy a brand new one, though.

Some old S Pens will work with the Galaxy Z Fold 5
The Galaxy Z Fold 5's internal foldable display is a canvas on which you can let your creativity flow using the S Pen. As a device that's aimed at people who value productivity, the S Pen is integral to that experience.
Samsung has made several different types of S Pens over the years and not all are compatible with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. You can't use the S Pen of the Galaxy S Ultra, Note or Galaxy Tab series with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, so it would be best if you didn't even attempt this to begin with.
The old S Pens that you can use with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 include the ones released for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the S Pen Pro. The S Pen particularly released for this new flagship is obviously supported as well.
When you buy the Galaxy Z Fold 5, you have the option to pick up the S Pen case as well, so you'll have a place to store the stylus, since you can't store the S Pen inside the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It's fine if you don't want that case, as long as you have an old S Pen that's compatible, you can use the stylus features of Samsung's newest foldable phone.
