The Galaxy Z Fold 5 has been updated to One UI 6 (Android 14) in various markets over the last few weeks, and with its first major OS upgrade out of the way, Samsung's latest foldable flagship is back to getting standard security updates.
Samsung has released the December security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in Europe. The update should start making its way to other regions soon, though it may take a few days for that to happen as the One UI 6 rollout is still ongoing.
The December update for the Fold 5 only brings security enhancements, so if you were hoping for fixes for bugs you may be facing on One UI 6, you will be disappointed (to Samsung's credit, One UI 6 has been pretty stable on most Galaxy devices that have received the update).
To download the latest Galaxy Z Fold 5 update, open the phone's Settings app, navigate to Software update, then tap the Download and install option (repeat the process a few times if the update doesn't show up on the first attempt). We also have the full-sized firmware available in our firmware archive, which can be used to upgrade the device using a Windows PC.
