Samsung has confirmed that it will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked launch event in July in South Korea. During the event, the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Ahead of the unveiling, their design, features, and color variants have leaked. Now, there is some good news about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 pricing.

According to some rumors, Samsung could reduce the Galaxy Z Fold 5's pricing a bit compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Although the tipster didn't reveal the exact pricing, it is possible that Samsung may reduce the price of its next-generation foldable as the phone isn't bringing any major improvements, and the competition is just increasing in the foldable space. Recently, Google launched its first foldable phone, the Pixel Fold, with a price tag of $1,799 despite featuring a superior camera setup.

Owing to minimal upgrades, Galaxy Z Fold 5 could be priced lower than Galaxy Z Fold 4

Since the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to bring largely the same camera setup seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, it would be logical for Samsung to lower the pricing to attract more consumers or stop Galaxy users from jumping ship to other brands. According to previous leaks and rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have cover and inner screens similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, and a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The biggest change would be the waterdrop-shaped hinge that improves screen crease and leaves no gap between the two folding halves of the phone.

It could also feature a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP outer selfie camera, all featuring 4K 60fps video recording abilities. Other features that we could expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 5 include S Pen compatibility, stereo speakers, an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB 3.2 Type-C port, Samsung Pay, Samsung DeX, and Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 software.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5, though, could be priced similarly to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 at $999. The flip-style phone is getting a huge design change. It is getting a massive cover display, as large as 3.4 inches diagonally. It is also getting an IP57 rating (for dust and water resistance) and a waterdrop-shaped hinge for a less obvious screen crease and flat folding halves. It is rumored to feature a bigger 12MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP selfie camera.

The fifth-generation Galaxy Z Flip phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, stereo speakers, USB Type-C port, and Wireless DeX. It could be powered by the same 3,700mAh battery used in its predecessor, 25W fast charging, and fast wireless charging.
